Ethan Bourdeau serves the Standard Development team at the International WELL Building Institute as a Subject Matter Expert in Acoustics. He earned a B.S.E. in Acoustical Engineering and Music with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Hartford and Hartt School of Music. There, he conducted research proving the significant difference in air and noise quality above and below The High Line park in New York City which was published in Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment. Prior to joining IWBI, Ethan was an acoustical consultant for Longman Lindsey in New York City, specializing in sound masking design, architectural review, HPW standard design, and implementing the WELL Building Standard, most notably on the Delos HQ at 860 Washington Street. With a passion for health in the built environment, Ethan is determined to design accessible pathways for projects to achieve and benefit from high performance acoustical design. In his spare time, Ethan cycles with the Gran Fondo New York Racing Team under the guise of Century Road Cyclists of America. He is also an active musician and performs with the Brooklyn Wind Symphony on Euphonium and Trombone, as well as the Wind Ensemble Society of New York City on Euphonium, Guitar, and Plectrum Banjo.
