Jack Guo is a Vice President at International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI), a public benefit corporation with a mission to improve human health and well-being through the built environments. IWBI administers the WELL Building Standard® (WELL), the world’s first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness. The WELL building certification program is an evidence-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring the performance of building features and other aspects of the built environments that impact the health and well-being of the people in the spaces we create.
As a Vice President of IWBI Asia, Jack manages the internal operations and business strategy of IWBI Asia team. He also manages the education and training program to the Asia market to help WELL adopters understand the core concepts and strategies of WELL, and the values, benefits, and implementation pathways. He develops and manages credentialing education programs. He counsels on potential WELL adopters and advocates for broader WELL adoptions throughout Asia.
Jack has extensive experience in consulting for buildings to improve human wellness and sustainability. For the past decade, he has been dedicated to bridging cutting edge technologies and concepts with building practice in China. He has been an innovative driving force guiding his business partners to pursue market leading strategies ranging from energy efficiency, green building techniques, meticulous design/construction/operation, comfort and wellness optimization to mechanisms that influence building occupants’ life style.
Prior to joining IWBI, Jack was in charge of the business development for Atkins Sustainability practice in China. He worked on various projects of diverse typologies ranging from large scale mix use development, high end office towers, hotels, MNC headquarters, R&D centers, labs, manufacturing plants, hospitals and high-end residential.
Jack sees education as an important approach to deliver intended value. He frequently provides relevant trainings to business partners. His audiences are from property developers, Fortune 500 corporations, office and retail tenants, project management firms, design firms, property and asset management firms, facility management firms and marketing agencies.
As a professional, Jack has worked with important players such as GE, Siemens, Intel, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, HSBC, Citi Bank, IKEA, Walmart, A&F, Nike, Hines, Tishman Speyer, CapitaLand, Shui On Land, Hang Lung Group, Swire, China Resource Land, Vanke, Poly, Greenland, China Railway, SOHO.
Jack is an American Council of Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer. He is an adamant promoter of health and fitness. He was an amateur Men’s Physique contestant. He coaches on fitness and nourishment. He routinely practices on helping people at workplace to resolve health issue caused by prolonged sitting, lack of physical activities and unbalanced diet.
Jack was a Division Governor in Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization focusing on communication and leadership skills improvement. He has won multiple public speaking contests.
