Mei Xu is a Vice President of Technical Solutions for IWBI Asia.  International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI) is a public benefit corporation with a mission to improve human health and well-being through the built environment. IWBI administers the WELL Building Standard® (WELL), the world’s first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness. The WELL building certification program is an evidence-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring the performance of building features and other aspects of the built environments that impact the health and well-being of the people in the spaces we create.

Mei is Based in Shanghai, China. She joined IWBI with extensive experience in building sustainability and wellness in China, providing advisory support to many WELL and green building projects. Her work in IWBI (Asia) focuses on technical support for Chinese clients and projects.

Prior to working with IWBI, she served as senior sustainability consultant and building physics analysis expert, contributing to many Chinese sustainable design and construction projects. In her role, Mei was responsible for advising client sustainability strategies, building physics simulation and analysis, project management, as well as oversight and coordination of green building certifications.

Mei holds a MSc degree in Renewable Energy and Architecture from the University of Nottingham, UK and a BEng in Building Environment and Facility from Tsinghua University, China. She is also a WELL Faculty, WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C, and Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) accredited by American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).  More about Mei’s professional experience:
